Mediator-in-Training (MIT) Program

Presented by Mediation Centre Ontario Inc.

MCOI.com has consulted with our team of senior mediators from Mediation Centre Ontario Inc. to develop an MIT Program that will provide you hands-on learning and mentorship via supervised practical experience. The supervised practical experience is designed to provide you with the mediation experience you require to mediate your own cases, build your own practices, and become an OAFM accredited mediator, while still complying with relevant Ontario legislation governing our work.

Mediation Centre Ontario Inc. delivers court connected mediation services to 10 court locations under contract with the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario. Mediation services may be in-person or virtual which offers you a wide variety of mediator approaches and experiences.

MIT Application

Not all MIT Applicants will be chosen. MITs are carefully selected based on our assessment of the suitability of the candidate for the live training we provide.  All candidates will be required to have completed their training prior to applying for the Mediator-in-Training (MIT) Program.

Note: MITs must agree to a security check (for the Ministry of the Attorney General) and carry at least 2 million in professional liability insurance.
